What is the place, face and true value of a digit?

The place value is defined as the position that a digit occupies in a number. Example: What is the place value of the underlined digit in 234? tens

The face value is simply defined as the digit itself within a number.       Example: What is the place value of the 7 in 9476? 7

Face value is simply defined as the digit itself within a number. Example: What is the true value of the underlined digit in 738245? 8 x 1000= 8,000
