 Welcome ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘งboys and girls to Mathematics class. Today we will be going on an adventure where we will be exploring a member of a set and not a member of a set.

What is a set?

A set is a collection of objects that has something in common.

  We use the symbols below to represents:

means a member of a set.

means is not a member of the set.

Examples:

Use symbols above to answer the questions using sets A and set B.

A= {2, 4, 6, 8.....}          B{ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.....}

1. 4 is a   of set A  (because 4 is in set A) 

2. 7 is a    of set A (because 7 is not in member of set A because set A contains even numbers. 

3. 10 is a    is a member of set A (because 10 is an even number).




   Boys and girls watch the video clips for additional information on a member of set and not a member of a set.
